👁️ Grok-1.5V can see you’re having a bad hair day
xAI — Elon Musk's AI venture aiming to challenge OpenAI and Google — has unveiled Grok-1.5V, its first multimodal model capable of processing both text and visual data. You can turn on your camera for Grok Vision and talk to it with Grok Voice. It’ll incorporate what it sees into its replies. Or turn a handwritten table into CSV.
Fun Fact: Grok-3 was trained using xAI's colossal data center, Colossus, which boasts around 200,000 GPUs. This immense computational power enabled Big Brain Grok to outperform competitors like OpenAI's GPT-4o in early tests, particularly in math and science.

🏛️ Trump says schools gotta teach AI
Following your rival’s heels: Right after China announced AI initiatives in education, now here comes the White House. They’re establishing an AI Education Task Force and registering apprenticeships. The initiative focuses on learning how to use AI, not only for K-12 students but also educators.
Fun Fact: Chegg, once a $12 billion edtech darling, saw its stock plummet by 99% from its peak after students flocked to free AI tools like ChatGPT.

🏥 Got breast cancer? Let’s ask AI
Physicians Weekly — a medical news publication providing updates on clinical research and practice — reports that patients are increasingly comfortable with AI serving as a second reader in mammography screenings.
Doctors not unemployed yet: 85% of patients were comfortable with AI assisting in readings, but only 20% were comfortable with AI making the final decision alone.
Fun Fact: In London, AI isn't just assisting—it's taking the lead. The hospital has deployed an AI tool named Derm which can analyze images of skin lesions taken with an iPhone and a magnifying lens. It’s 99.9% accurate in diagnosing if you got skin cancer. Talk about a bright future.
⚖️ Noxtua Raises $92M to Automate your Lawyer
Noxtua — a German legal AI platform formerly known as Xayn — has just secured a whopping $92.2 million in Series B funding. Trained on 55 million documents, they're building AI that can read, analyze, and summarize dense contracts. Especially impressive how high the bar is for legal compliance in Germany.
Fun fact: Noxtua is the name of Athena’s owl (or Minerva). Athena’s the Greek goddess of wisdom, and the little owl’s thriving in Europe.
