🧪 Can AI power drug approval without hallucinating itself?

The FDA just turbo-boosted its operations with AI, completing its first successful pilot of AI-assisted scientific reviews. They want to do a full roll-out by June. Which seems… aggressive for a government agency in charge of medical safeguards. Soon, every FDA center will be running on algorithmic caffeine.

FDA approval can take anywhere from 6 months to 10 years, so some caffeine might not hurt. Let’s hope there’s safeguards - AI is known for hallucinating. There’s still a final human in the approval process, for now. It’s not officially disclosed who the FDA is working with, but let’s be real, it’s probably OpenAI.

Fun Fact: The new Chief AI Officer used to run tech ops for intelligence agencies.

🛡️ Chrome’s Gemini Nano catches scams

Chrome just activated beast mode. Google's Gemini Nano is now baked into Chrome’s Enhanced Protection. Tech support scams? Fake antivirus alerts? Not so fast.

This isn’t your average spam filter. Gemini Nano works on your device, analyzing site behavior in real time and stopping shady pop-ups dead in their tracks. It’s basically a digital bouncer who checks IDs.

Fun Fact: Gemini Nano can detect sketchy sites before they hit the blocklist. It’s already reduced scam reports.

🎤 What do Paul McCartney and Dua Lipa have to say about AI?

Hundreds of artists banded together to push the UK prime minister not to give away their artistry to AI models without disclosure. The government’s pushing back, saying that discourages technology and creative innovation.

Long story short? British AI devs might need to start crediting the real artists. And potentially, pay licensing fees. But would that lead to offshore development?

Fun Fact: It’s not just music. Sarah Silverman, George R.R. Martin, and a whole squad of authors have sued AI companies for training on their work.
